Multi-cancer blood tests (e.g. Galleri)
Finds more cancers, but missed its main goal in the largest trial.
What studies found
In NHS-Galleri (about 142,000 adults), adding yearly blood tests did not reduce stage III–IV cancers, the primary goal. Stage IV diagnoses were 14% lower, a secondary result.
The catch
No evidence yet that it reduces cancer deaths. It does not replace standard screenings.
What to do
If you consider one, use it only on top of your recommended screenings.
