Rung Five

Privacy policy

Rung Five is built to be read, not to track you. Here is exactly what happens when you visit.

Effective 30 October 2026

The short version

  • We count page visits with Google Analytics so we know which sections people use.
  • We never record what you type into the search boxes, which foods, myths or options you open, or anything you enter in the exercise calculator.
  • We don't use advertising cookies, remarketing or ad tracking, and we don't sell or share your information for advertising.
  • There are no accounts, sign-ups or forms, so we never ask for your name or email.
  • You can turn usage statistics off at any time with Privacy choices.

Usage statistics

We use Google Tag Manager to run Google Analytics. When usage statistics are on, Google Analytics records the Rung Five pages you view, the page titles, the site that linked you here, your general location (country and city, worked out from your IP address), your device and browser type, and how long you stay. It sets first-party cookies (names starting with _ga) to tell new visits from returning ones. Google Analytics doesn't store your IP address. We set it to keep this data for two months, and we've turned off Google signals and advertising features.

Advertising storage, ad user data and ad personalization are switched off for every visitor, all the time.

Your choices

  • Visitors in the EU, EEA, UK and Switzerland: usage statistics stay off unless you choose Allow.
  • Everyone else: usage statistics are on by default, and you can turn them off with Privacy choices.
  • Global Privacy Control: if your browser sends this signal, we treat it as a request to keep usage statistics off.
  • You can also block or delete cookies in your browser settings. The site works the same either way.

What's stored on your device

Besides the Google Analytics cookies above, Rung Five saves one setting in your browser's local storage, rf-consent, which remembers your privacy choice. Nothing else is stored.

Other services that see your visit

  • Vercel hosts the site. Like any web host, it processes your IP address and basic request details to deliver pages and keep the site secure.
  • Google Fonts supplies the site's typefaces, so your browser requests them from Google's servers.
  • Links to studies and guidelines take you to other websites, which have their own privacy policies.

These services may process data in the United States and other countries.

Children

Rung Five is written for adults and isn't directed at children under 13. We don't knowingly collect information from children.

Changes to this policy

If we change how the site handles information, we'll update this page and the date at the top.
