What the evidence shows

No human study has tested whether NAD+ boosters raise or lower cancer risk. Short human trials found they raise NAD+ in the blood without serious side effects, but haven't shown health benefits. In a 2019 mouse study (Nature Cell Biology), mice prone to pancreatic cancer that were given NMN developed more precancerous and cancerous growths; other researchers call it a small effect that hasn't been repeated.

What to do

There's no evidence they prevent cancer. If you have cancer, don't start them without your care team, since it isn't known whether they affect tumor growth.
